Banque Nationale de Belgique (BNB) is the central bank of Belgium. It is responsible for determining and implementing the Eurosystem's monetary policy, issuing and managing notes and coins, and promoting monetary and financial stability. The bank collects, compiles, analyzes, and distributes economic and financial information, and oversees financial market infrastructures and critical service providers. BNB also centralizes the revenue and expenditure of the federal state, administers fines and settlements, combats money laundering, and manages international settlements. It provides macroprudential and prudential supervision, crisis management, and a range of services to individuals, schools, and central banks, including exchange of currency, credit registers, and reserve management. BNB was founded in 1850 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.
